第八届博鳌国际诗歌节暨国际诗人笔会2025年会，2025年12月6日至11日在澳大利亚悉尼举行。诗歌节期间，举办了首届国际诗人笔会金笔奖颁奖典礼、第八届博鳌国际诗歌奖颁奖典礼、第七届黄亚洲行吟诗歌奖国际大赛颁奖典礼、2025悉尼当代艺术展·诗书画展、南回归线以南诗歌交流研讨会和国际诗人笔会执行委员会第二次（扩大）会议等系列活动。博鳌国际诗歌节主席黄亚洲，国际诗人笔会主席大卫·慕斯格雷夫，副主席苏尔丹·卡托、多克·德拉姆赫勒、包尔江·贾合甫，执行委员会委员韩庆成、杜肯·玛斯木汗、阿坦泰·阿克帕若夫，第八届博鳌国际诗歌奖杰出成就奖获得者黄翔等120余位来自澳大利亚、中国、美国、新西兰、哈萨克斯坦、吉尔吉斯斯坦、越南等国的诗人、艺术家出席活动。
Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival were held from December 6 to 11, 2025 in Sydney, Australia. During the festival, a series of events were featured, including the 1st Golden Pen Award Ceremony of the Poets International Pen Club, the 8th Boao International Poetry Award Ceremony, the 7th Huang Yazhou Wandering Poetry Award Ceremony of International Competition, the Sydney Contemporary Arts Exhibition 2025 ( Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting), the Poetry Exchange and Reading of the South of the Tropic of Capricorn, the Second (expanded) Executive Committee Meeting of the Poets International Pen Club. The festival welcomed over 120 poets and artists from Australia, China, the United States, New Zealand, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, and other countries. Among them were distinguished guests: Huang Yazhou, Chairman of the Boao International Poetry Festival; David Musgrave, Chairman of the Poets International Pen Club; Vice Chairmen: Sultan Catto, Doc Drumheller and Bauyrzhan Zhakyp; Executive Committee members: Han Qingcheng, Duken Massimkhanuly, and Atantay Akbarov; as well as Huang Xiang, the winner of Outstanding Achievement in the 8th Boao International Poetry Award.

12月7日中午12时，第八届博鳌国际诗歌节暨国际诗人笔会2025年会开幕式，在澳大利亚悉尼歌剧院隆重举行。据悉，这是悉尼歌剧院举办的全球首场诗歌活动。中国作家协会第六届副主席、博鳌国际诗歌节主席、国际诗人笔会副主席黄亚洲，宣布第八届博鳌国际诗歌节暨国际诗人笔会2025年会开幕。国际诗人笔会主席大卫·慕斯格雷夫致欢迎辞。博鳌国际诗歌奖评选委员会主任、国际诗人笔会总干事韩庆成、国际诗人笔会翻译部副部长珍妮·崔分别用中、英文主持开幕式。
At 12:00 on December 7, Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival were opened at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. It is reported that this is the first global poetry event ever held at the Sydney Opera House. Huang Yazhou, Vice Chairman of the 6th Chinese Writers Association, Chairman of the Boao International Poetry Festival, and Vice Chairman of the Poets International Pen Club, declared the opening of Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival. David Musgrave, Chairman of the Poets International Pen Club, delivered the welcome address. Han Qingcheng, Director of the Boao International Poetry Award Selection Committee and Secretary-General of the Poets International Pen Club, and Jennifer CUI, Deputy Director of the Translation Department of the Poets International Pen Club, co-hosted the opening ceremony in Chinese and English.

韩庆成首先致辞，他说，澳大利亚是一个文明的国度，悉尼是一座美丽的城市。当2023年11月，我第一次踏上这片广袤、洁净的国土，我就想，我们的博鳌国际诗歌节，应该到这里来举办一次。2024年12月，当第七届博鳌国际诗歌节在泰国举办时，我们与20个国家和地区的诗人包括澳洲诗人一道，发起成立了国际诗人笔会，而这个笔会的注册地，就在悉尼。因此，我们几乎是迫不及待地在一年后的今天来到这里，来到悉尼歌剧院这座举世闻名的地标建筑，隆重举行第八届博鳌国际诗歌节和国际诗人笔会2025年会。正如大家刚刚看到的，我们还与澳大利亚艺术界联合会一起，举办了一场以诗人为主体的书画作品展。今后，希望有更多的诗人艺术家，加入到这个与诗同行的艺术展出。最后，韩庆成代表博鳌国际诗歌节和国际诗人笔会，致敬土地、天空和水域的传统居民，向过去和现在的原住民长者表示敬意，同时也向帮助举办这次活动的澳大利亚诗人表示感谢。
大卫·慕斯格雷夫向出席开幕式的各国嘉宾表示欢迎。他简要介绍了澳大利亚诗歌现状，希望本届笔会能加强澳洲诗人与世界诗人的相互了解和交流，共同推动国际诗歌发展。何与怀、施国英、陆文涛、布文先后致辞，对第八届博鳌国际诗歌节暨国际诗人笔会2025年会在悉尼举办表示祝贺，向与会各国嘉宾表示问候。布文还代表澳大利亚艺术界联合会，向出席2025悉尼当代艺术展·诗书画展的诗人、艺术家表示欢迎和感谢。
Han Qingcheng delivered the opening address. He said that Australia is a civilized nation and Sydney is a beautiful city. "When I first set foot on this vast and pure land in November 2023, I thought to myself: our Boao International Poetry Festival should be held here once. In December 2024, when the 7th Boao International Poetry Festival was held in Thailand, we initiated the establishment of the International Poets Pen Club with poets from 20 countries and regions, including Australian poets. And the club is registered right here in Sydney. Therefore, we have now come to the Sydney Opera House a year later, the world-renowned landmark, to convened Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival. As you have just witnessed, with the Australian Art Federation we have also presented an exhibition of calligraphy and painting mainly from poets. In the future, we hope more poets and artists will join the arts exhibition of poetry." In conclusion, on behalf of the Boao International Poetry Festival and the International Poets Pen Club, Han Qingcheng paid tribute to the traditional citizens of the land, sky, and waters, acknowledged Elders past and present, and extended thanks to the Australian poets who helped organize this event.
David Musgrave welcomed the distinguished guests from various countries in the opening ceremony. He provided a brief overview of the current state of Australian poetry and hoped that this conference would enhance mutual understanding and exchange between Australian poets and poets worldwide, and promote the development of international poetry. He Yuhuai, Shi Guoying, Lu Wentao, and Bu Wen all delivered addresses, congratulating Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival held in Sydney, and extending greetings to all the guests. Bu Wen, also on behalf of the Australian Arts Federation, welcomed and thanked the poets and artists in the Sydney Contemporary Arts Exhibition 2025: Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting.

Then began the 1st Golden Pen Award ceremony of the Poets International Pen Club. Wang Guilin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Poets International Pen Club, announced the list of award winners. Huang Yazhou read the citation for Doc Drumheller: "Doc Drumheller's poetry concentrates on haiku, masterfully blending traditional musical rhythm with vivid portraiture of contemporary life. A keen observer of nature and culture in his travels, he captures the most moving instants with words and his verses glow with wisdom and raw emotion，resonating deeply with readers. His successful pursuit of popular appeal and literary excellence has gained international recognition." He then presented the award with Academician Bauyrzhan Zhakyp. Hu Tao read the citation for Duken Massimkhanuly:" The Republic of Kazakhstan stands as the largest Turkic-speaking nation in Central Asia. For the Turkic peoples, literary history begins with poetry. The rich folk literature nurtured on this remarkable land is largely expressed in the form of poetry. With the advent of the 21st century, Kazakh poets have interacted more freely with the global literary community, deriving inspiration from their traditions while pioneering new paths in modern poetry. Over the past twenty-five years, a period marked by national reawakening and spiritual resurgence, Duken Massimkhanuly has absorbed the spiritual legacy of his people and elements from both Eastern and Western civilizations. His poetry exalts noble ideals and the purity of the human spirit, upholding universal values such as peace, sincerity, integrity, and fellowship. Through a prolific body of work, he has developed his distinctive style and voice, securing his place as one of the most distinguished modern poets in the Turkic world." He then presented the award with Professor Paul Magee. David Musgrave read the citation for Yu Nong: "As a new-generation military poet from China, Yu Nong's poetry is concise and efficient with a soldier spirit. His poetry reads sparse and steep, yet tranquil and serene in fact. He possesses a power to simplify complexity. When his verses brush like a gentle breeze, the world is often washed clean, clear, and distinct. When his poetic expression traverses and overlooks the worldly, his poetry emerges compassionate yet resolute against a somewhat sparse background. He always focuses the meanings behind ordinary things. He maintains alert to even the slightest movement as a soldier. He perpetually gazes at the hidden-self. Therefore, readers can always find the multiple meanings of this world through his everyday experiences." He then presented the award with Zhang Jinfan. Doc Drumheller, Duken Massimkhanuly, and Yu Nong each delivered acceptance speeches.

接着，举行第八届博鳌国际诗歌奖颁奖典礼。博鳌国际诗歌节副主席倮倮宣读获奖名单。韩庆成宣读杰出成就奖获得者黄翔授奖词：“如果一定要定义一位1949年后中国现代主义诗歌的启幕人，那么，只有黄翔无愧于这个光彩夺目的位置。《野兽》一诗1968年就告诉人们，那是一个如何把人逼成兽的年代。他以‘即使我只仅仅剩下一根骨头／我也要哽住一个可憎时代的咽喉’的诗句，以他预言式的决绝，义无反顾地为诗歌和信仰受虐，成为一个时代的悲情先知。当我们站在新的世纪，回望诗歌遭受深重蹂躏的五十年前，正是黄翔和少数诗人无畏的坚守，以及用诗歌顽强表现的内心呐喊与抗争，使诗性精神的火焰在极寒的时刻不致完全熄灭，并在二十世纪八十年代重新燃烧，成就了中国诗歌史上最辉煌的一章。黄翔诗歌中的独立意识与自由精神，已成为当今网络诗歌时代不容剥夺的诗学准则。”并与珍·克劳馥教授共同颁奖。84岁的黄翔以抱病之身，发表了满含激情的演讲，他的夫人秋潇雨兰现场做了翻译。
Next was the award ceremony for the 8th Boao International Poetry Award. Luo Luo, Vice Chairman of the Boao International Poetry Festival, announced the award winners. Han Qingcheng read the citation for Huang Xiang, the winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award: " If a preeminent figure must be named to mark the dawn of modernist poetry in post-1949 China, Huang Xiang holds an unassailable claim to that distinguished role. His poem The Beast, penned as early as 1968, laid bare an era that drove men to brutality. With his prophetic determination, he wrote: "Even should I be reduced to a single bone / I'll still choke the vile throat of this era." He suffered for his poetry and his convictions, becoming a tragic prophet of his generation. As we look back from this new century to that period of poetic devastation half a century ago, it was the courageous stand of Huang Xiang and a few peers—their tenacious inner cries and resistance channeled through verse—that prevented the flame of poetic spirit from being utterly extinguished in that deep freeze. That spirit flared up again in the 1980s, creating one of the most brilliant epochs in Chinese poetry. The intellectual independence and free spirit in Huang Xiang's work remain essential poetic benchmarks, even in today's era of online poetry." Together with Professor Jen Crawford, he presented the award to Huang Xiang. The 84-year-old Huang Xiang, despite not well in health, delivered a passionate speech, interpreted on site by his wife, Qiuxiao Yulan.

His sensibilities stretch both near and far: near, they reach the fingertips and the nib of his pen; far, they extend to galaxies and primordial time. Masterful in his craft, he consistently finds concreteness for abstractedness, matching perfectly." Together with Dr. Paul Collis, she presented the award. Yun Shuiyin read the citation for Atantay Akbarov, winner of the Annual Poet Award "From A Broken Heart Cannot Be Bandaged to Letters to God, he has, with exquisite craftsmanship, forged his devotion to his homeland, longing for his mother, reflections on life, and his profound inquiries into human nature into poems that strike the soul. His writing possesses both psychological depth and dramatic tension; his inventive metaphors and brilliant insights mark luminous moments in contemporary poetry. From news editor to parliamentary translator, the decades of life experience he carries have become fertile soil for his art, allowing his poetry to hold both a sensitivity to everyday life and a spiritual yearning that transcends the ordinary. Through his poems, he has connected cultures, and with a sincere heart, he continues to safeguard the spiritual homeland of his people. This honour is a tribute to a lifetime devoted to the ideals of poetry, and a celebration of the warmth and enlightenment his words bring to the human spirit" Together with Professor Judith Crispin, she presented the award. Chunzi read the citation for Yi Ru, winner of the Annual Poet Award: " Yi Ru writes modern verse while delving deep into classical studies. Though well-acquainted with the ways of the world, he has kept a pure childlike heart. His poetry, much like the poet himself, breathes with a primordial vitality, embracing yin while holding yang and achieving divinity through utmost sincerity. He moves seamlessly between tradition and modernity, giving voice to contemporary life through classical sensibilities and channeling ancient wisdom in today's language. Through his light irony and verbal festivity, all things—the complexity of worldly affairs and the ups and downs of human fate—are recognized and reconciled. In this harmonious order, everything finds its place, shaping his distinctive poetic language and unique image as a poet." Together with Dr. Willo Drummond, she presented the award. Luoluo read the citation for Gao Pengcheng's poetry collection The Vast Blue Way: “Gao Pengcheng's The Vast Blue Way is a pioneering poetic work dedicated to the Maritime Silk Road. With lyrical precision, the poet reawakens the echoes of ship sails, forgotten harbors, and the ancient trade routes. This is where the personal and the historical converge—where a single life finds its place on the monumental route of civilizational dialogue. The text's ‘invitational structure’ invites every reader to a personal, poetic communion with its larger narrative. Here, ‘vast blue’ is more than the color of the ocean—it is an emblem of exploration and inclusivity, reflecting the enduring legacy and expansive horizon of the Silk Road culture. This blue-hued pilgrimage, conversing with the past and inscribing a legacy for civilization, offers readers a profound sense of historical weight or daily courage, rendering the art of poetry ever more vital. Together with Todd Turner, he presented the award. Liang Xiaochun read the citation for Han Wansheng's poetry collection Who Is My Antidote: “Han Wansheng forges his poetry with a framework of precise language, a soul of genuine passion, and wings of expansive themes. Beneath a surface of simplicity lies deep feeling, and within unadorned words resides philosophical insight. His work holds fast to a heartfelt love for his native land and life, while bearing the weight of profound reflection on existence and our times. This results in a poetic voice that is both intensely moving and vitally alive. In his concise style, profound thoughts find a voice, balancing emotional heat with intellectual gravity. Through his pioneering themes, meticulous craft, and evocative power, he has carved out a distinct artistic identity—rooted in the soil of his origins, yet striking a universal chord. This is modern Chinese poetry that showcases the true aesthetic force of the language.”Together with Judith Crispin, she presented the award. In 2022, David Musgrave won the Annual Poet Award of the 5th Boao International Poetry, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was unable to go to China for the award. At the conclusion of the awards ceremony for the 8th Boao International Poetry Award, this honor was belatedly presented to him. Gu Zheng read the citation for David Musgrave: " David Musgrave's poetry carries the hallmark traits of modernism. It combines unusual, often startling imagery to build up shifting layers of poetic resonance. His storytelling is frequently seen through reflective mediums like mirrors or water—lenses that bend and reshape meaning. Within the absurd landscapes of hallucination and illusion, a sense of authenticity persists. Dedicated to reimagining the very substance and situations of poetry, Musgrave explores the art form in all its dimensions: word, sound, image, and atmosphere, reaching a remarkable level of artistic mastery.”Together with Doc Drumheller, he presented the award. Beginning with "谢谢" (thank you) in Chinese, David Musgrave delivered his acceptance speech.

颁奖典礼结束后，黄亚洲副主席代表国际诗人笔会执行委员会，做了《国际诗人笔会2025年度工作报告》。他在报告中说，国际诗人笔会2024年12月成立，一年来，围绕“完善组织架构，构建全球化服务网络”和“推进常态化业务，夯实诗歌传播基础”工作重点，先后成立了哈萨克斯坦分会、中国分会，正在筹备成立澳大利亚分会、美国分会、吉尔吉斯斯坦分会、文莱分会、菲律宾分会、越南分会和中国香港分会。笔会直属的翻译部和新闻部也已成立，负责笔会活动文本和会员作品翻译，以及新闻发布与传播。笔会主办的“金笔奖”，已完成首届评选工作，并在本届年会颁奖。《国际诗歌年鉴·2025》已完成中文版组稿，即将完成英文版组稿，争取于明年上半年出版。2026年，笔会将以“打造高质量年度诗会，深化区域文化联动”、“强化品牌传播，扩大国际影响力”、“优化会员服务体系，提升服务精准度”和“拓展资金渠道，构建可持续保障体系”为目标开展工作，把博鳌国际诗歌节纳入笔会核心项目，第一步将其打造成亚洲首屈一指的诗歌节，力争三到五年内，使其成为世界一流诗歌节。作为会员服务体系的一个重要内容，《世界诗歌》中英双语杂志，2026年将恢复为季刊出版。笔会还将与澳大利亚Puncher & Wattmann出版社合作，充分发挥该社的品牌影响力，翻译出版优秀会员作品，并在每年的博鳌国际诗歌节和年会上交流。
After the award ceremony, Huang Yazhou, Vice Chairman, on behalf of the Executive Committee of the Poets International Pen Club, delivered the 2025 Annual Work Report of the Poets International Pen Club. In his report, he stated that since the establishment in December 2024, the Poets International Pen Club has focused on: "improving organization frame and building a global service network" and "advancing regular service for the solid foundation of poetry spreading." In the previous year, the club has established branches in Kazakhstan and China, and is preparing branches in Australia, the United States, Kyrgyzstan, Brunei, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Hong Kong, China. The Club's Translation Department and News Department have also been established for the translation of club activities and members' works, as well as news release and spreading. The club "Golden Pen Award" has completed its first selection and was presented at the annual conference. The Chinese edition of International Poetry Annual 2025 has been finalized, with the English edition nearing finished, aiming for publication in the first half of next year. In 2026, the club will focus on the following goals: "creating high-quality annual poetry event and deepening regional cultural collaboration," "enhancing brand spreading to expand international influence," "optimizing member services to improve effectiveness," and "diversifying funding channels to build a sustainable support system." The Boao International Poetry Festival will be the club’s key projects, with the first step to make it the premier poetry festival in Asia, and then a world-class poetry festival in three to five years. As an important part of the member service system, the Chinese-English magazine World Poetry will resume quarterly publication in 2026. Additionally, the club will collaborate with Australian publisher Puncher & Wattmann, leveraging its brand influence to translate and publish outstanding works of members, with exchanges annually at the Boao International Poetry Festival and the club’s annual conference.

年会期间，由澳大利亚艺术界联合会主办、国际诗人笔会协办的“2025悉尼当代艺术展·诗书画展”，在悉尼歌剧院展出了黄翔、黄亚洲、伊利亚·乌兹诺斯基、傅泽刚、何亚兰、凌云、张仲衡、秋潇雨兰、曹波、倮倮、王桂林、林琳等来自美国、中国、澳大利亚的30多位诗人、艺术家的绘画、书法作品和诗集，并评出2025金袋鼠艺术奖，傅泽刚、何亚兰、凌云荣获年度大奖（消息由澳大利亚艺术界联合会另发）。
During the annual conference, the " Sydney Contemporary Art Exhibition 2025: Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting" hosted by the Australian Arts Federation and co-organized by the Poets International Pen Club, was held at the Sydney Opera House. The exhibition showcased paintings, calligraphic works, and poetry collections by over 30 poets and artists from the United States, China, and Australia, including Huang Xiang, Huang Yazhou, Ilia Uzunoski, Fu Zegang, He Yalan, Ling Yun, Zhang Zhongheng, Qiuxiao Yulan, Cao Bo, Luo Luo, Wang Guilin, and Lin Lin. The event also presented the 2025 Golden Kangaroo Art Awards, with Fu Zegang, He Yalan, and Ling Yun receiving the annual grand prizes (the announcement to be issued by the Australian Arts Federation).

On the morning of December 9, the Poetry Exchange and Reading of the South of the Tropic of Capricorn was held at the Parliament House of New South Wales. Huang Yazhou gave a keynote lecture titled "From Classical to Modern: A Brief View of Chinese Wandering Poetry", and Sultan Catto gave another lecture titled "My Wandering Poetry. Over 40 poets were present at the meeting and poem reading, including David Musgrave, Chairman of the Poets International Pen Club; Vice Chairmen: Doc Drumheller and Baurzhan Zhaqyp; Executive Committee members: Han Qingcheng, Durken Massimkhanuly, and Atantay Akbarov, as well as award-winning poets such as Huang Xiang. Luoluo, Vice Chairman of the Boao International Poetry Festival, hosted the event. Zhang Aolie, former President of the International New Immigrants Writers' Association, and Zhao Xu, former Vice Chairman of the Lanzhou Writers Association in China, delivered speeches. In the elegant and spacious Western-style venue, the poets read their award-winning poems and poems newly written in Sydney.

Following thorough deliberation and voting, the meeting elected the following:

Vice President Huang Yazhou delivered concluding remarks.

会议决定修改《国际诗人笔会章程》第四章第二十一条、第二十四条中的部分内容，以及部分章节中的有关表述。
2. Amendment to the Poets International Pen Club Charter
The meeting decided to amend certain provisions in Article 21 and Article 24 of Chapter IV of the Poets International Pen Club Constitution, as well as related expressions in some other chapters.

会议根据总干事的提名，决定任命萨亚提·哈穆什格尔为国际诗人笔会副总干事，杨春兰为常务副秘书长，云水音为翻译部部长、珍妮·崔为副部长，牧野为新闻部部长。
3. Appointment of Department Heads
Upon the nomination of the Secretary-General, the meeting decided to appoint:

4. Decision on the 2026 Annual Conference
The meeting decided that the Annual Conference of the Poets International PEN 2026 will be held in an Asian country in December 2026.

下午，会议在Moxy酒店会议室继续举行，重点听取新当选的执行委员会成员和列席会议的多国分会筹备组负责人，对笔会今后工作的意见。
In the afternoon, the meeting continued in the conference room of the Moxy Hotel, focusing on the opinions of newly elected executive committee members and heads of preparatory groups for multinational branches attending the meeting, regarding the future work of the club.

第八届博鳌国际诗歌节暨国际诗人笔会2025年会，2025年12月6日至11日在澳大利亚悉尼举行。诗歌节期间，举办了首届国际诗人笔会金笔奖颁奖典礼、第八届博鳌国际诗歌奖颁奖典礼、第七届黄亚洲行吟诗歌奖国际大赛颁奖典礼、2025悉尼当代艺术展·诗书画展、南回归线以南诗歌交流研讨会和国际诗人笔会执行委员会第二次（扩大）会议等系列活动。博鳌国际诗歌节主席黄亚洲，国际诗人笔会主席大卫·慕斯格雷夫，副主席苏尔丹·卡托、多克·德拉姆赫勒、包尔江·贾合甫，执行委员会委员韩庆成、杜肯·玛斯木汗、阿坦泰·阿克帕若夫，第八届博鳌国际诗歌奖杰出成就奖获得者黄翔等120余位来自澳大利亚、中国、美国、新西兰、哈萨克斯坦、吉尔吉斯斯坦、越南等国的诗人、艺术家出席活动。
Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival were held from December 6 to 11, 2025 in Sydney, Australia. During the festival, a series of events were featured, including the 1st Golden Pen Award Ceremony of the Poets International Pen Club, the 8th Boao International Poetry Award Ceremony, the 7th Huang Yazhou Wandering Poetry Award Ceremony of International Competition, the Sydney Contemporary Arts Exhibition 2025 ( Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting), the Poetry Exchange and Reading of the South of the Tropic of Capricorn, the Second (expanded) Executive Committee Meeting of the Poets International Pen Club. The festival welcomed over 120 poets and artists from Australia, China, the United States, New Zealand, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, and other countries. Among them were distinguished guests: Huang Yazhou, Chairman of the Boao International Poetry Festival; David Musgrave, Chairman of the Poets International Pen Club; Vice Chairmen: Sultan Catto, Doc Drumheller and Bauyrzhan Zhakyp; Executive Committee members: Han Qingcheng, Duken Massimkhanuly, and Atantay Akbarov; as well as Huang Xiang, the winner of Outstanding Achievement in the 8th Boao International Poetry Award.

At 12:00 on December 7, Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival were opened at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. It is reported that this is the first global poetry event ever held at the Sydney Opera House. Huang Yazhou, Vice Chairman of the 6th Chinese Writers Association, Chairman of the Boao International Poetry Festival, and Vice Chairman of the Poets International Pen Club, declared the opening of Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival. David Musgrave, Chairman of the Poets International Pen Club, delivered the welcome address. Han Qingcheng, Director of the Boao International Poetry Award Selection Committee and Secretary-General of the Poets International Pen Club, and Jennifer CUI, Deputy Director of the Translation Department of the Poets International Pen Club, co-hosted the opening ceremony in Chinese and English.

韩庆成首先致辞，他说，澳大利亚是一个文明的国度，悉尼是一座美丽的城市。当2023年11月，我第一次踏上这片广袤、洁净的国土，我就想，我们的博鳌国际诗歌节，应该到这里来举办一次。2024年12月，当第七届博鳌国际诗歌节在泰国举办时，我们与20个国家和地区的诗人包括澳洲诗人一道，发起成立了国际诗人笔会，而这个笔会的注册地，就在悉尼。因此，我们几乎是迫不及待地在一年后的今天来到这里，来到悉尼歌剧院这座举世闻名的地标建筑，隆重举行第八届博鳌国际诗歌节和国际诗人笔会2025年会。正如大家刚刚看到的，我们还与澳大利亚艺术界联合会一起，举办了一场以诗人为主体的书画作品展。今后，希望有更多的诗人艺术家，加入到这个与诗同行的艺术展出。最后，韩庆成代表博鳌国际诗歌节和国际诗人笔会，致敬土地、天空和水域的传统居民，向过去和现在的原住民长者表示敬意，同时也向帮助举办这次活动的澳大利亚诗人表示感谢。

Han Qingcheng delivered the opening address. He said that Australia is a civilized nation and Sydney is a beautiful city. "When I first set foot on this vast and pure land in November 2023, I thought to myself: our Boao International Poetry Festival should be held here once. In December 2024, when the 7th Boao International Poetry Festival was held in Thailand, we initiated the establishment of the International Poets Pen Club with poets from 20 countries and regions, including Australian poets. And the club is registered right here in Sydney. Therefore, we have now come to the Sydney Opera House a year later, the world-renowned landmark, to convened Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival. As you have just witnessed, with the Australian Art Federation we have also presented an exhibition of calligraphy and painting mainly from poets. In the future, we hope more poets and artists will join the arts exhibition of poetry." In conclusion, on behalf of the Boao International Poetry Festival and the International Poets Pen Club, Han Qingcheng paid tribute to the traditional citizens of the land, sky, and waters, acknowledged Elders past and present, and extended thanks to the Australian poets who helped organize this event.
David Musgrave welcomed the distinguished guests from various countries in the opening ceremony. He provided a brief overview of the current state of Australian poetry and hoped that this conference would enhance mutual understanding and exchange between Australian poets and poets worldwide, and promote the development of international poetry. He Yuhuai, Shi Guoying, Lu Wentao, and Bu Wen all delivered addresses, congratulating Poets International PEN 2025 and the 8th Boao International Poetry Festival held in Sydney, and extending greetings to all the guests. Bu Wen, also on behalf of the Australian Arts Federation, welcomed and thanked the poets and artists in the Sydney Contemporary Arts Exhibition 2025: Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting.

Huang Yazhou read the citation for Doc Drumheller: "Doc Drumheller's poetry concentrates on haiku, masterfully blending traditional musical rhythm with vivid portraiture of contemporary life. A keen observer of nature and culture in his travels, he captures the most moving instants with words and his verses glow with wisdom and raw emotion，resonating deeply with readers. His successful pursuit of popular appeal and literary excellence has gained international recognition." He then presented the award with Academician Bauyrzhan Zhakyp. Hu Tao read the citation for Duken Massimkhanuly:" The Republic of Kazakhstan stands as the largest Turkic-speaking nation in Central Asia. For the Turkic peoples, literary history begins with poetry. The rich folk literature nurtured on this remarkable land is largely expressed in the form of poetry. With the advent of the 21st century, Kazakh poets have interacted more freely with the global literary community, deriving inspiration from their traditions while pioneering new paths in modern poetry. Over the past twenty-five years, a period marked by national reawakening and spiritual resurgence, Duken Massimkhanuly has absorbed the spiritual legacy of his people and elements from both Eastern and Western civilizations. His poetry exalts noble ideals and the purity of the human spirit, upholding universal values such as peace, sincerity, integrity, and fellowship. Through a prolific body of work, he has developed his distinctive style and voice, securing his place as one of the most distinguished modern poets in the Turkic world." He then presented the award with Professor Paul Magee. David Musgrave read the citation for Yu Nong: "As a new-generation military poet from China, Yu Nong's poetry is concise and efficient with a soldier spirit. His poetry reads sparse and steep, yet tranquil and serene in fact. He possesses a power to simplify complexity. When his verses brush like a gentle breeze, the world is often washed clean, clear, and distinct. When his poetic expression traverses and overlooks the worldly, his poetry emerges compassionate yet resolute against a somewhat sparse background. He always focuses the meanings behind ordinary things. He maintains alert to even the slightest movement as a soldier. He perpetually gazes at the hidden-self. Therefore, readers can always find the multiple meanings of this world through his everyday experiences." He then presented the award with Zhang Jinfan. Doc Drumheller, Duken Massimkhanuly, and Yu Nong each delivered acceptance speeches.

Next was the award ceremony for the 8th Boao International Poetry Award. Luo Luo, Vice Chairman of the Boao International Poetry Festival, announced the award winners. Han Qingcheng read the citation for Huang Xiang, the winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award: " If a preeminent figure must be named to mark the dawn of modernist poetry in post-1949 China, Huang Xiang holds an unassailable claim to that distinguished role. His poem The Beast, penned as early as 1968, laid bare an era that drove men to brutality. With his prophetic determination, he wrote: "Even should I be reduced to a single bone / I'll still choke the vile throat of this era." He suffered for his poetry and his convictions, becoming a tragic prophet of his generation. As we look back from this new century to that period of poetic devastation half a century ago, it was the courageous stand of Huang Xiang and a few peers—their tenacious inner cries and resistance channeled through verse—that prevented the flame of poetic spirit from being utterly extinguished in that deep freeze. That spirit flared up again in the 1980s, creating one of the most brilliant epochs in Chinese poetry. The intellectual independence and free spirit in Huang Xiang's work remain essential poetic benchmarks, even in today's era of online poetry." Together with Professor Jen Crawford, he presented the award to Huang Xiang. The 84-year-old Huang Xiang, despite not well in health, delivered a passionate speech, interpreted on site by his wife, Qiuxiao Yulan.

From news editor to parliamentary translator, the decades of life experience he carries have become fertile soil for his art, allowing his poetry to hold both a sensitivity to everyday life and a spiritual yearning that transcends the ordinary. Through his poems, he has connected cultures, and with a sincere heart, he continues to safeguard the spiritual homeland of his people. Though well-acquainted with the ways of the world, he has kept a pure childlike heart. His poetry, much like the poet himself, breathes with a primordial vitality, embracing yin while holding yang and achieving divinity through utmost sincerity. He moves seamlessly between tradition and modernity, giving voice to contemporary life through classical sensibilities and channeling ancient wisdom in today's language. Through his light irony and verbal festivity, all things—the complexity of worldly affairs and the ups and downs of human fate—are recognized and reconciled. Here, ‘vast blue’ is more than the color of the ocean—it is an emblem of exploration and inclusivity, reflecting the enduring legacy and expansive horizon of the Silk Road culture. This blue-hued pilgrimage, conversing with the past and inscribing a legacy for civilization, offers readers a profound sense of historical weight or daily courage, rendering the art of poetry ever more vital. Together with Todd Turner, he presented the award. Liang Xiaochun read the citation for Han Wansheng's poetry collection Who Is My Antidote: “Han Wansheng forges his poetry with a framework of precise language, a soul of genuine passion, and wings of expansive themes. Beneath a surface of simplicity lies deep feeling, and within unadorned words resides philosophical insight. His work holds fast to a heartfelt love for his native land and life, while bearing the weight of profound reflection on existence and our times. This results in a poetic voice that is both intensely moving and vitally alive. In his concise style, profound thoughts find a voice, balancing emotional heat with intellectual gravity. In 2022, David Musgrave won the Annual Poet Award of the 5th Boao International Poetry, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was unable to go to China for the award. At the conclusion of the awards ceremony for the 8th Boao International Poetry Award, this honor was belatedly presented to him. Gu Zheng read the citation for David Musgrave: " David Musgrave's poetry carries the hallmark traits of modernism. It combines unusual, often startling imagery to build up shifting layers of poetic resonance. 颁奖典礼结束后，黄亚洲副主席代表国际诗人笔会执行委员会，做了《国际诗人笔会2025年度工作报告》。他在报告中说，国际诗人笔会2024年12月成立，一年来，围绕“完善组织架构，构建全球化服务网络”和“推进常态化业务，夯实诗歌传播基础”工作重点，先后成立了哈萨克斯坦分会、中国分会，正在筹备成立澳大利亚分会、美国分会、吉尔吉斯斯坦分会、文莱分会、菲律宾分会、越南分会和中国香港分会。笔会直属的翻译部和新闻部也已成立，负责笔会活动文本和会员作品翻译，以及新闻发布与传播。笔会主办的“金笔奖”，已完成首届评选工作，并在本届年会颁奖。《国际诗歌年鉴·2025》已完成中文版组稿，即将完成英文版组稿，争取于明年上半年出版。2026年，笔会将以“打造高质量年度诗会，深化区域文化联动”、“强化品牌传播，扩大国际影响力”、“优化会员服务体系，提升服务精准度”和“拓展资金渠道，构建可持续保障体系”为目标开展工作，把博鳌国际诗歌节纳入笔会核心项目，第一步将其打造成亚洲首屈一指的诗歌节，力争三到五年内，使其成为世界一流诗歌节。作为会员服务体系的一个重要内容，《世界诗歌》中英双语杂志，2026年将恢复为季刊出版。笔会还将与澳大利亚Puncher & Wattmann出版社合作，充分发挥该社的品牌影响力，翻译出版优秀会员作品，并在每年的博鳌国际诗歌节和年会上交流。
After the award ceremony, Huang Yazhou, Vice Chairman, on behalf of the Executive Committee of the Poets International Pen Club, delivered the 2025 Annual Work Report of the Poets International Pen Club. In his report, he stated that since the establishment in December 2024, the Poets International Pen Club has focused on: "improving organization frame and building a global service network" and "advancing regular service for the solid foundation of poetry spreading." In the previous year, the club has established branches in Kazakhstan and China, and is preparing branches in Australia, the United States, Kyrgyzstan, Brunei, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Hong Kong, China. The Club's Translation Department and News Department have also been established for the translation of club activities and members' works, as well as news release and spreading. The club "Golden Pen Award" has completed its first selection and was presented at the annual conference. The Chinese edition of International Poetry Annual 2025 has been finalized, with the English edition nearing finished, aiming for publication in the first half of next year. In 2026, the club will focus on the following goals: "creating high-quality annual poetry event and deepening regional cultural collaboration," "enhancing brand spreading to expand international influence," "optimizing member services to improve effectiveness," and "diversifying funding channels to build a sustainable support system." The Boao International Poetry Festival will be the club’s key projects, with the first step to make it the premier poetry festival in Asia, and then a world-class poetry festival in three to five years. As an important part of the member service system, the Chinese-English magazine World Poetry will resume quarterly publication in 2026. Additionally, the club will collaborate with Australian publisher Puncher & Wattmann, leveraging its brand influence to translate and publish outstanding works of members, with exchanges annually at the Boao International Poetry Festival and the club’s annual conference.

During the annual conference, the " Sydney Contemporary Art Exhibition 2025: Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting" hosted by the Australian Arts Federation and co-organized by the Poets International Pen Club, was held at the Sydney Opera House. The exhibition showcased paintings, calligraphic works, and poetry collections by over 30 poets and artists from the United States, China, and Australia, including Huang Xiang, Huang Yazhou, Ilia Uzunoski, Fu Zegang, He Yalan, Ling Yun, Zhang Zhongheng, Qiuxiao Yulan, Cao Bo, Luo Luo, Wang Guilin, and Lin Lin. On the morning of December 9, the Poetry Exchange and Reading of the South of the Tropic of Capricorn was held at the Parliament House of New South Wales. Huang Yazhou gave a keynote lecture titled "From Classical to Modern: A Brief View of Chinese Wandering Poetry", and Sultan Catto gave another lecture titled "My Wandering Poetry. Over 40 poets were present at the meeting and poem reading, including David Musgrave, Chairman of the Poets International Pen Club; Vice Chairmen: Doc Drumheller and Baurzhan Zhaqyp; Executive Committee members: Han Qingcheng, Durken Massimkhanuly, and Atantay Akbarov, as well as award-winning poets such as Huang Xiang. Zhang Aolie, former President of the International New Immigrants Writers' Association, and Zhao Xu, former Vice Chairman of the Lanzhou Writers Association in China, delivered speeches. 12月9日，国际诗人笔会执行委员会第二次（扩大）会议在澳大利亚新南威尔士州议会大厦举行。大卫·慕斯格雷夫、苏尔丹·卡托、黄亚洲、多克·德拉姆赫勒、包尔江·贾合甫、韩庆成、杜肯·玛斯木汗、阿坦泰·阿克帕若夫出席会议。国际诗人笔会执行委员会委员北塔、郭永秀线上出席会议。萨亚提·哈穆什格尔、杨春兰、王桂林、云水音、珍妮·崔，国际诗人笔会中国分会执行会长禺农、常务理事倮倮，国际诗人笔会澳大利亚分会筹备组负责人布文、中国香港分会筹备组负责人林琳列席会议。
The Second (Expanded) Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Poets International Pen Clubwas held on December 9, 2025, at the Parliament House of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
I. Attendees

会议由国际诗人笔会副主席黄亚洲主持。国际诗人笔会总干事韩庆成做《关于国际诗人笔会执行委员会第二次（扩大）会议审议事项》的说明。
II. Agenda and Presiding Officer
The meeting was chaired by Huang Yazhou, Vice President of the PIPC. Han Qingcheng, Secretary-General of the PIPC, presented an explanatory report on the matters at the Second (Expanded) Meeting of the Executive Committee.

会议经充分审议和表决，选举大卫·慕斯格雷夫为国际诗人笔会主席，苏尔丹·卡托、多克·德拉姆赫勒、包尔江·贾合甫为副主席，韩庆成、阿坦泰·阿克帕若夫为执行委员会委员。
大卫·慕斯格雷夫主席，苏尔丹·卡托、多克·德拉姆赫勒、包尔江·贾合甫副主席，阿坦泰·阿克帕若夫委员先后讲话，对国际诗人笔会今后的工作提出意见和要求。黄亚洲副主席做了总结讲话。
III. Deliberations and Resolutions
1. Election of Executive Leadership
Following thorough deliberation and voting, the meeting elected the following:
· President: David Musgrave
· Vice Presidents: Sultan Catto, Doc Drumheller, Bauyrzhan Zhakyp
· Executive Committee Members: Han Qingcheng, Atantay Akbarov
President David Musgrave, Vice Presidents Sultan Catto, Doc Drumheller, and Bauyrzhan Zhakyp, along with Executive Committee Member Atantay Akbarov, delivered remarks successively, offering suggestions and requirements for the future work of the Poets International Pen Club. Vice President Huang Yazhou delivered concluding remarks.

会议决定修改《国际诗人笔会章程》第四章第二十一条、第二十四条中的部分内容，以及部分章节中的有关表述。
2. Amendment to the Poets International Pen Club Charter
The meeting decided to amend certain provisions in Article 21 and Article 24 of Chapter IV of the Poets International Pen Club Constitution, as well as related expressions in some other chapters.

会议根据总干事的提名，决定任命萨亚提·哈穆什格尔为国际诗人笔会副总干事，杨春兰为常务副秘书长，云水音为翻译部部长、珍妮·崔为副部长，牧野为新闻部部长。
3. Appointment of Department Heads
Upon the nomination of the Secretary-General, the meeting decided to appoint:
· Deputy Secretary-General: Sayat Kamshyger
· Executive Deputy Secretary-General: Yang Chunlan
· Director of the Translation Department: Yun Shuiyin
· Deputy Director of the Translation Department: Jenny Cui
· Director of the Communications Department: Mu Ye

会议决定，国际诗人笔会2026年会，于2026年12月在亚洲国家举行。
4. Decision on the 2026 Annual Conference
The meeting decided that the Annual Conference of the Poets International PEN 2026 will be held in an Asian country in December 2026.

下午，会议在Moxy酒店会议室继续举行，重点听取新当选的执行委员会成员和列席会议的多国分会筹备组负责人，对笔会今后工作的意见。
In the afternoon, the meeting continued in the conference room of the Moxy Hotel, focusing on the opinions of newly elected executive committee members and heads of preparatory groups for multinational branches attending the meeting, regarding the future work of the club.

12月8日和10日，与会嘉宾前往悉尼大学、圣玛利亚大教堂、邦迪海滩、皇家植物园和卧龙岗市参观游览，并乘坐游船领略了悉尼海湾优美的景色。
On December 8 and 10, the guests visited the University of Sydney, St. Mary's Cathedral, Bondi Beach, the Royal Botanic Garden, and the city of Wollongong, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Sydney Harbour on a cruise.
